About CSPPROFILE

This Spring 1999 web site is dedicated to students' rights and their struggles to attain them.

Raymond J. Veronda is the Manager of Global Consulting and oversees the operation of California's Schools of Psychology Profile (CSPPROFILE). He completed his undergraduate work at Sonoma State University (SSU) in 1992, majoring in psychology while heavily involved in student politics. At SSU he also earned his Management and Supervisory Development Certificate and California Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counseling Certificate. He was an active member of Psi Chi, The National Honor Society in Psychology, from 1989 to 1992. During that period of time he was also president of the SSU Chapter of Psi Chi for two years, and received the Psi Chi Service Award for his work.

At Sonoma State University, Raymond J. Veronda was elected Administrative Vice-President of the Associated Students (AS) where he coordinated numerous student committees and worked tirelessly towards students' rights He was an active voting member of the Student Union Board of Directors, Children's School Governing Board (SSU campus child care center), and active in numerous other committees and boards including the Student Equity Committee, AS Personnel Board, Chair of Student Union Personnel Committee, Student Grievance Committee, Grade Appeals Committee, and the AS Executive Board.

While at the California School of Professional Psychology-Alameda he was an elected co-chair to the Student Association for three years and member of the Campus Executive Committee for about the same period of time.He still maintains constant contact with students from CSPP.

Raymond J. Veronda has been listed in "Who's Who in the World" and, "Who's Who in the West." He has been a student affiliate of the American Psychological Association since 1991, and the Academy of Management since 1992. He has been a long time member of the Sierra Club and has been extremely active in one of the largest international human rights organizations in the world, and over the last two years worked out of the regional office of that organization. For the last sixteen years he has been very active in the human rights arena working for the rights of people from all areas of life. Some of his experience working for the rights of others has included the field of higher education (working for students) and as a Fire Captain in one of the largest organized fire departments in the world speaking out against ongoing preferential hiring, Americans with Disabilities ACT (ADA) violations, and many other discriminatory acts commonly found in such systems used to exclude under represented groups from employment and access.

To broaden his understanding of the world, Raymond J. Veronda has traveled extensively throughout Mexico, Central America, and Western and Eastern Europe, including the former U.S.S.R just prior to democracy. In the Spring/Summer of 1998 he spent two months in the Mexican states of Guerrero, Oaxaca and Chiapas studying the cultures. While in Mexico, he attended school and studied in an intensive Spanish language immersion program in San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas. He has also found time to become a private pilot, SCUBA diver, and has been an active runner for over fourteen years.

Because he is now not affiliated with CSPP, he can openly provide important inside information to prospective students who might want to learn more about CSPP and other schools, before they commit themselves.
